What
does "BiCSi" stand for? "Building Industry
Consulting Service International"
BiCSi was founded in 1974 to serve telephone company
building industry consultants, (BICs), responsible for
the design and distribution of telecommunications wiring
for commercial and multi-family buildings. As the
industry changed and converged, so did BiCSi. Our
traditional voice, data, and video cabling base is
expanding to include all aspects of communications, life
safety, and automation
technologies.
BiCSi now
serves nearly 25,000 members and installers in more than
110 countries around the world. BiCSi sets the industry
standard for communications cabling and ensures all
members meet the highest technical standards as a
result. All members are required to do on going
training to maintain the BiCSi certifications.
