Service Technician I
This position provides immediate technical assistance to local, internal, external, and national customers via phone, Internet, email correspondence, in-house and onsite appearance. The incumbent is responsible for the delivery and setup of new system hardware and peripheral components for customers, and for troubleshooting and repairing computer systems and peripheral equipment. This position typically resolves routine questions and problems, referring more complex issues to higher levels. Looking for an individual that will contribute to the organization independently by continued learning and obtaining certifications in this field. Functional Responsibilities: 1. Installs computer hardware and peripheral components, such as monitors, keyboards, printers, scanners, and disk drives. Loads and verifies correct operation of software packages. Performs system backups. Troubleshoots and resolves routine hardware, software, and user problems. 2. Troubleshoots and repairs computer system hardware and peripheral components. Maintains inventory of and/or orders computer parts used in performing repairs. Makes recommendations to customers requesting upgrades and performs installations 3. Logs all service work, repairs, maintenance performed. Prepares forms, service sheets, billing information accurately as needed. Prepares documentation and progress reports as needed. 4. Functions as a dependable member of the team, interpreting and following policies and procedures, and demonstrating positive interpersonal relationship skills to promote a harmonious working environment and outstanding customer service. 5. Applies basic knowledge and develops advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment, as appropriate. 6. Possesses communication skills and willingness to work with others in a team environment. Minimum Education/Experience: · Education/Experience: Technical training desired and 0-2 years of experience in computer-related fields, including hardware technical service, general knowledge of Microsoft business products, some knowledge of various other software programs, Internet. · Technical Skills: PC, printer, scanner, fax machine, telephone system. · Other qualifications/certificate/license: Valid SD drivers license, A+ Certification desired, but not required. |
